Wilsden Village Hall

If you are approaching Wilsden from the North (Keighley etc.), travel towards Bradford using the A650 (or see the directions below for travelling from the West). Use the Bingley by-pass until its end (Ramada Jarvis Bankfield Hotel). Then, come back upon yourself on the old road (i.e. 2nd exit) to the traffic lights. Here, bear left (B6269) and continue ahead passing the Sun Inn on your left, crossing a mini-roundabout. At the following mini-roundabout, turn right (signposted Wilsden). Continue up the hill to the traffic lights (approx. 1 mile) and then again turn right, following the direction signs for Wilsden. At the Ling Bob public House, turn right down Main Street and continue past Wilsden Autos. Just here, look for the Advance Church ‘A’ Board sign, opposite the Old Chapel, and turn left into Royd Street (Village Hall signposted). Then turn first right into Townfield. The Hall is at the end of the street, with the Car Park in front.

If you are approaching from the East (Leeds etc.) via Leeds Road, cross the inner Ring Road in to Bradford City Centre. At the first roundabout, take the first exit, passing the T&A and St. George’s Hall on your left. Continue ahead at the traffic lights, past the Hilton Hotel and up the incline to the roundabout (facing the Central Library). Take the 2nd exit here, pass ahead through the next lights (almost immediately – using the centre lane) and then pass the derelict cinema building and turn left at these next lights onto Thornton Road. At the 3rd set of traffic lights, turn right. Approx. ½ miles from here, the road becomes an old-fashioned dual carriageway. At the mini roundabout at the end of this stretch, bear left, then continue uphill, following the main road for a mile or so, reaching the summit of the hill. Here, follow the road round to the right downhill to another set of traffic lights. Turn left here on to Wilsden Road. At the Ling Bob public House, turn right down Main Street and continue past Wilsden Autos. Just here, look for the Advance Church ‘A’ Board sign, opposite the Old Chapel, and turn left into Royd Street (Village Hall signposted). Then turn first right into Townfield. The Hall is at the end of the street, with the Car Park in front.

If you are approaching from the West (Halifax etc.) use the A629 Keighley Road until you reach the B6429 (Cullingworth turn-off). Turn right towards Cullingworth and travel downhill until the mini-roundabout. Go right here, towards Wilsden on the B6144, down the steep dip (careful at the bridge!) and up into Harecroft village. Continue to the Ling Bob public house mini-roundabout, and turn left into Main Street and continue past Wilsden Autos. Just here, look for the Advance Church ‘A’ Board sign, opposite the Old Chapel, and turn left into Royd Street (Village Hall signposted). Then turn first right into Townfield. The Hall is at the end of the street, with the Car Park in front.

If you are approaching from the South, take the M606 link from the M62 and at the end of the M62 keep left and take the slip road up the incline, ignoring the signs to the City Centre (Bradford) inviting you to turn right !!! At the roundabout tat the top of the slip road (traffic lights) take the 3rd exit (count carefully!) passing to the right of the Petrol Station. You will then pass a Morrison’s Supermarket after a few hundred yards. At this point, keep in the left-hand lane and continue straight ahead. You will now pass through 4 sets of traffic lights, before meeting an old-fashioned dual carriageway. At the mini roundabout at the end of this stretch, bear left, then continue uphill, following the main road for a mile or so, reaching the summit of the hill. Here, follow the road round to the right downhill to another set of traffic lights. Turn left here on to Wilsden Road. At the Ling Bob public House, turn right down Main Street and continue past Wilsden Autos. Just here, look for the Advance Church ‘A’ Board sign, opposite the Old Chapel, and turn left into Royd Street (Village Hall signposted). Then turn first right into Townfield.
