Pastors Derek and Linda Carver

Derek & Linda celebrated thirty-five years of marriage in 2009, and have two children, Adam and Victoria. Adam is married to Faye and they have three boys (Joshua, Isaac, Sam) and a girl (Alyssa). Victoria is engaged to be married to James Harrop, and they will marry in Saltaire URC on 31st July 2010.

Derek worked in retail management for almost 25 years, latterly for Greggs the Bakers. At the point of being appointed sales manager for Greggs, Cardiff, he chose instead to obey the Lord’s call into full-time Christian ministry.

Derek is currently chair of governors of Heaton Primary School, Bradford. He was co-founder of the Christian Youth Centre in Akunza Migili, nr. Lafia, Nasarawa State, Nigeria and, more locally, was for a time Chaplain to the Toller Lane Division of West Yorkshire Police. His most recent appoinment has been to the position of Chair of the Parish Council of Sandy Lane, Bradford.

Prior to starting a family, Linda worked as a Retail Travel Consultant. She is now responsible for developing the women's ministry at Advance Church, and is a sought-after speaker at local conferences and prayer breakfasts.

Derek & Linda were called into ministry as a couple, and continue to work together as a team. They have over twenty-five years experience of leadership, including children’s work, and have most recently spent time developing a congregation in the Haworth Road/Sandy Lane area of Bradford, West Yorkshire, which relocated its Sunday Worship Meeting to the village of Wilsden in January 2010.
